Karen Kubey is an architect based in New York specializing in housing design and research. She is producing an exhibition on low-rise, high-density housing titled Suburban Alternatives, which is supported by an Architectural League-sponsored Independent Projects award from the New York State Council on the Arts and draws on research conducted during a Columbia University Post-Graduate William Kinne Traveling Fellowship and with an Oral History Award from the Temple Hoyne Buell Center for the Study of American Architecture. Karen currently serves as Executive Director of the Institute for Public Architecture.
